Blimeing heck, this one's a right laugh! First sip hits you with this proper sweet mead vibe, like someone's bunged a load of honey and banana compote in there. Then, outta nowhere, smoky pears start proper belting out the tunes - not sure if its the sugarcane syrup or summat else, but it works a treat. Rum's loud and clear too, almost like it's having a natter with a French agricole-Jamaica-Demerara triangle in the background. There's this weirdly refreshing fruit salad with coriander and mint leaves popping up, makes it feel like a summer picnic in a glass. Not exactly what I'd call a serious whisky - more like a cheeky experiment that's gone and worked. Liquorice allsorts and a touch of eucalyptus sneak in, but it's all just fun stuff really. The finish's quite long, hangs around like a mate who's had one too many but you still enjoy the company. Bit of a joke, this one, but in a good way!

Blimey, this one's a proper surprise. You get this triangle of French agricole, Jamaican funk and Demerara richness going on — almost a joke how well it works, but it does. 🍐 The smoky pears come out first, then there's this banana compote thing, like fruit salad drenched in sugarcane syrup. Touches of rubber and fresh coriander pop up, which sounds unlikely but honestly the combo worked a treat. There's a bit of liquorice allsorts in there too, little liquorice bits and some straw. The rum is loud and clear, no hiding it, yet this modern Benriach garden fruitiness still pokes through. Whiffs of marijuana and mint leaves give it this weird herbal edge — fun stuff! Slight earthy smokiness underneath, touch of eucalyptus, even something mead-like towards the end. Goes on quite long actually. Middle-aged Benriach seems to take rum extremely well, who'd have thought. Very, very lovely one this. 🥃

Just had a splash of this and blimey, fun stuff! Right off the bat, an earthy smokiness, but then weird whiffs of marijuana and touches of rubber creep in. Unlikely, I know 🤷‍♂️ Then the rum is loud and clear – almost like banana compote soaked in mead, with a little liquorice and a touch of eucalyptus. The combo worked a treat though; after a bit those smoky pears come out. Quite long, that finish.

Warm and mellow, with a bit of toffee, oak and dried fruit. Feels cosy rather than flashy — a wee spicy kick at the end, but still smooth enough for a slow sip 🥃 Nice on a chilly evening.

Warm and a bit spicy, with a soft fruity sweetness 🍯 I get a wee touch of oak, vanilla, and something slightly smoky. Quite cosy, not too heavy — nice slow-sip stuff. 🥃
