Had half of a small cup and it was absolutely beautiful, very good indeed. Green apple, white currants and mirabelle plums at first, then a touch of acacia honey and honeysuckle. There’s this delightfully taut, white-wine sort of feel, almost Savennières or top-tier Chenin Blanc in my head, with chalk, flint, a hint of salinity and some curious smoky notes — soot, gunflint, even a tiny suggestion of cigarette ash. The aftertaste goes more flint and chalk, with a whisper of lapsang souchong tea. Lovely stuff 😊
