Just poured a glass and the colour is this gorgeous red amber, really catches the eye. The smell? Oh blimey, it's got tobacco and Texas Scrub Oak Smoked notes, like a bonfire mixed with corn whisky. I'm picking up bitter chocolate and coriander seeds too – very distinctive, almost alien in how it hits you. The taste is jolly good fun – smoky with soot, and that clove and compost thing comes through, but not in a bad way. Careful, not too much though, as it's powerful. It's like the varnish on Billy Gibbons’ brand new Stratocaster, that polished, woody scent – incredible smoky side. Has this roasted blue corn vibe, and the finish is long, spicy, and woody, really lingers. Won't change the score for me, I just love its wildest roots. Very amusing sip altogether! 😊
