Tasting Notes & Reviews

Expert analysis and tasting impressions

Blimey, this dram’s a proper peat bomb—like a driftwood fire on a windswept beach 🌊🔥. There’s a whack of iodine and a briny salty tang that just clings to your tongue. Ripe orchard fruit, maybe overripe pears 🍐, cuts through the smoke. Then it shifts: oak, a wee dusting of spice, and a cuddle of old-school sherry cask. It’s tradishional but with a bold "extra" kick, you know? Water opens up this zesty, almost sea-salt quality that keeps you going back for more. Salted toffee vibes at the finish. Cracking pour, that. 🥃

Right, so this one's got quite the nose on it, init? 🥃 Nose: bit of honey 🍯 and some malty sweetness comin through. Maybe a touch of citrus? Like lemon peel or summink. Quite nice realy. Palate: Smooth as anything, proper creamy mouthfeel. Gettin some caramel and vanilla notes, with a bit of spice sneaking in. There's somethin fruity there too, maybe dried fruit or summink. Quite complex for what it is actualy. 😋 Finish: Medium lenght, that warm glow lingers nicely. Bit of oak and a subtle smokyness at the end. Quite moorish realy. Overall - solid dram for a quiet evenin in. Would definitley have another glass or two! 🥃✨

Ohhh this one's got a right nice nose on it! 🥃 First thing I get is sweet, like... toasted marshmallows maybe? And then there's a bit of apple peels and vanilla custard. Proper autumnal, you know? On the palate, it's all smooth honey and gentle spice. Not hot at all, just warming. There's a lovely sort of toffeed apple thing going on as well. Finishes with a bit of oak and a hint of dark chocolate. Really rather drinkable, this. Would happily have anofher glass. 👍

Honestly, this whisky's got a real smoky vibe, like a campfire on a damp evening. 😅 You get this sweet, almost toffee-like note right up front, then it sort of mellows into something earthy—reminds me of wet leaves after rain. The finish is long, warming, a bit peppery. Sometimes I catch a whiff of dried fruit, like apricots or figs. 🥃 It's proper comforting, especially with a drop of water.
