Poured a dram of this pale gold liquid. Initial nose is a bit weird, very yeasty and mashy, almost like warm mashed potatoes and wet hay with some tobacco and earth. Bit on the varnishy side too, which is not great. Gets defintely better on the palate though, feels like the cask was more active. Got a lot of butter, oil, and ripe banana, sort of like a sweet and rich Belgian beer with loads of barley and sweets. There's an additional layer of sweet oak and vanilla, and then this unexpected hit of menthol at the end. Medium length finish. IMHO, a bit of a strange one but decent enough for a lazy afternoon 🥃
