Quite a smoky little dram, this. First sip feels far less raw than the nose suggested, with that kiln-like peat rolling through, a bit medicinal, slightly metallic, then mossy dampness and smoked pears. I get wee flashes of strawberry yoghurt, pineapple, a touch of vanilla and aniseed, with caraway tucked away at the back. The smoke really nips at the lips, but it stays pretty balanced. Finish hangs about for ages 🔥
