The Scotch Malt Whisky Society 1999 11 Years Single Malt Whisky

Right, so this one’s got a real autumn vibe going on 🍂. First sip, it’s like warm apple crumble with a dollop of custard – that sweet, baked fruitiness hits you straight away. Then there’s this lovely, kind of woody, spicyness coming through, like cinnamon sticks and maybe a hint of ginger. It’s proper warming, almost has a bit of a fiery kick towards the end 🔥. The finish is long and dry, leaves you thinking of dried fruits and maybe some dark chocolate. A really moreish drop, perfect for a chilly evening. Would go down a treat with a bit of dark chocolate on the side 🍫.

Got a bit of vanilla sweetness too. Taste-wise... it’s a proper autumn dram. Starts with that sweet fruit and toffee, then the spice and oak kick in. A bit of citrus zest comes through, balances it nicely. Finish is long, lingers with that lovely smokiness and a hint of dark chocolate. A proper warming whisky, this. Smoothe, too. 🥃
