Hanyu 1988 17 Years Single Malt Whisky

Blimey, this one’s a proper cosy dram 🥃 First sniff is all honey’d orchard fruit – stewed apples 🍎 and a whiff of pear drops, then a slow waft of vanila and soft toffee. On the pallate it’s surprisinly smoothe, almost silky, then a wee tickle of oaky spice and just a breath of peatsmoke curling at the edges 🔥🌿 A hint of seasalt dark choclate on the finish, warm and lingering. sherried dried fruits bob up with a touch of leathery old books? 📚 maybe im imagining it. but oof, it’s lovely. dash of water op’ns it up – more of that honey malt and a cheeky bit of citrus peel 🍊 Proper fireside sipper, this. No rush, just savour.

With a bit of oak and some dried fruit notes coming thru. Finish is long and warming, leving a faint smokyness behind. 🔥 It’s proper complex, evolvign as you sip. Quite enjoyble! 😊

Finish: medium length, a little peppery spice an' a whisper of oak. Mouthfeel's quite nice, not too thin. Gettin' a hint of dried fruit in there too, maybe figgy? 👍 Overall, very pleasant dram for a Tuesday night.
