Proper deep amber in the glass, and it feels massive straight away. Loads of toffee, raisins, big red fruits and spicy sherry, then the oak comes in quite heavy with clove, cinnamon, pepper and a bit of hot sawdust. Undiluted it’s a bit of a beast 😅 but give it time and it really opens up: bitter chocolate, coffee, liquorice, leather polish, even a whiff of Cuban cigar. Long, warming finish, very rich and a touch tannic, but honestly it keeps getting better.
