Zuidam Distillery, founded in 1976 by Fred van Zuidam in Baarle-Nassau, Netherlands, represents a story of passion and craftsmanship in Dutch distilling. After serving as Master Distiller at the renowned De Kuyper Royal Distillers, Fred van Zuidam embarked on his own venture, establishing a small-scale operation in just 300 square meters of space. The distillery began with a single copper still, storage facilities, and a production line dedicated to crafting traditional Dutch Jenever and other liqueurs. What started as a modest family enterprise has evolved into one of the Netherlands' most respected artisanal distilleries, now run by the second generation - Patrick and Gilbert van Zuidam. Today, Zuidam Distillers produces an award-winning range of spirits including premium single malt whisky, rye whisky, Dutch Courage Gin, and their flagship Millstone Whisky brand, while maintaining their commitment to traditional production methods, including floor malting, long fermentations, and slow distillation in copper pot stills.
