Saburoumaru Zero is a Japanese single malt whiskey crafted by Saburoumaru Distillery, a historic facility operated by Wakatsuru Brewery in Toyama Prefecture. Established in 1952, this distillery stands as one of Japan's oldest whiskey producers. The distillery gained international recognition for its ambitious renovation project funded entirely through crowdfunding between 2016 and 2017. Following modernization, Saburoumaru Zero was released as the flagship expression, representing three years of meticulous aging in the revitalized facilities. This whiskey embodies the distillery's renewed dedication to preserving traditional craftsmanship while embracing innovative production methods.
