Nantou Distillery, established in 1978 in Nantou County, Taiwan, is a flagship production facility of Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL), the state-owned enterprise formerly known as the Taiwan Monopoly Bureau. Originally conceived as a fruit winery, the distillery has evolved into Taiwan's premier producer of premium spirits, with a diverse portfolio encompassing single malt and blended whiskies, brandy, rum, and specialty fruit wines. Leveraging Taiwan's unique subtropical climate and indigenous ingredients, Nantou has garnered international acclaim for its whiskies, which exhibit accelerated maturation and distinctive flavor profiles that reflect the island's terroir.
