Founded in 2016 in Shiga Prefecture, Nagahama Distillery stands as one of Japan's smallest and most artisanal whisky producers, with an annual capacity of just 40,000 liters and a dedicated team of only five permanent craftsmen. Operating with exceptionally small pot stills—some of the smallest in commercial whisky production globally—each distillation yields merely 200 liters, filling approximately one American oak barrel per run. This ultra-craft approach has inspired their signature philosophy: 'Itton-Ikkyoryu' (一樽一蒸留), or 'One Barrel Per Distillation.'
