Qiongzhou Distillery stands at the epicenter of China's ancient distilling civilization in Qionglai, Chengdu, Sichuan Province—a region celebrated as 'China's Millennial Wine Country.' Nestled along the 30°N golden distilling latitude, the distillery harnesses the Sichuan Basin's unique microclimate of warmth, humidity, and dramatic seasonal variation—a terroir venerated for over two millennia as 'Heaven's First Continent.' After five years of meticulous planning and construction (2016-2021), Qiongzhou has emerged as a paradigm of modern Chinese whisky craftsmanship, integrating world-class distillation technology, a diverse cask inventory sourced globally, and an impassioned team of artisans. The distillery operates under a singular ethos: 'To create a whisky for the Chinese people, benchmarked against the world's finest.' Technologically, Qiongzhou is among the rare few distilleries worldwide operating both traditional copper pot stills and advanced column stills. Its centerpiece is a continuous column still capable of exceeding 334 rectification cycles, complemented by four pairs of hand-forged copper pot stills—one pair featuring exceptionally rare double condensation systems for precise control over spirit character, enabling both pristine and profoundly complex new make profiles. As a pioneer of the STR (Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred) cask treatment process in Asia, Qiongzhou curates an extraordinary maturation library: classic European and American oak, Oloroso/Fino/PX sherry butts, bourbon barrels, and wine casks, alongside indigenous Chinese oak varieties including Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica) from Changbai Mountain and Daxing'anling, and Liaoning oak— forging a unique dialogue between global whisky tradition and Chinese forest terroir. Future expansions will incorporate rum, tequila, and craft beer casks. Committed to 'Born from Nature, Walk with Nature,' Qiongzhou pursues carbon neutrality with rigorous zero-emission protocols, earning China's prestigious Three-Star Green Building Certification. Since December 2021, the distillery has welcomed visitors through complimentary monthly tours, with plans for a 227-acre whisky cultural sanctuary that will serve as an immersive Eden for whisky enthusiasts, inviting the world to discover China's contribution to the global whisky renaissance.
