Dewar's, the iconic Scotch whisky brand, was founded in 1846 by John Dewar in Perth, Scotland. From its humble beginnings, it has grown to become one of Scotland's most distinguished whisky houses and is now a flagship brand of Bacardi Limited. Dewar's takes pride in its uncompromising production process: using premium Scottish barley, pure yeast, and crystal-clear water from the Pitilie Burn spring, the whisky is matured exclusively in Scottish oak casks. The distillery maintains its founder's traditional methods with meticulous care—when stills need replacement, their exact shape and dimensions are preserved to ensure consistency. Dewar's pioneered the innovative "double aging" process, invented by Master Blender A.J. Cameron, where single malt and grain whiskies from across Scotland are aged separately, carefully blended, then returned to oak casks for a second maturation period, creating an exceptionally smooth and harmonious final product.
