In 1994, our city of Haarlem celebrated its 750th anniversary. To commemorate this once glorious beer city, we reintroduced two forgotten Haarlem beers. Thus, Jopen brewery—named after the great beer barrels of the past—was born. Since then, we have been passionately brewing craft beers that are different from ordinary beer. From an extremely vibrant IPA to a non-traditional Caramel & Sea Salt Stout, some may think we defy tradition, but believe us: tradition is very flexible. For example, we have a church as our brewery. Here, you can sit in our grand café and next to our restaurant where craftsmanship meets gastronomy, tasting heavenly beers and snacks.
