Glencraig is a rare single malt Scotch whisky brand produced at Glenburgie Distillery in Speyside from 1958 to 1981. The name refers to spirit distilled using a unique Lomond still—a hybrid design featuring a traditional pot still base with rectifying plates in the neck, allowing for greater control over reflux and resulting in a distinctive, lighter spirit character compared to Glenburgie's regular output. Installed in 1958, this experimental still produced whisky under the Glencraig name for just 23 years before being decommissioned in 1981, making all expressions exceptionally scarce. The whisky is prized by collectors for its historical significance and unusual profile, which bridges the gap between traditional pot still and column still production. While legally a product of Glenburgie, the market recognizes Glencraig as a de facto separate distillery due to its radically different production method and flavor profile.
