100 Pipers is a distinguished blended Scotch whisky renowned for its exceptionally smooth palate and delicate smoky character. The brand's iconic name and Celtic-inspired imagery pay homage to Scotland's legendary bagpipers who historically led clansmen into battle. The moniker derives from the famous Scottish folk ballad 'The Hundred Pipers,' which commemorates Bonnie Prince Charlie's heroic 1745 Jacobite uprising, led by 100 pipers into battle. Originally crafted by Chivas Brothers, this premium blend was later acquired by the Canadian spirits giant Seagram. The whisky is meticulously composed from a marriage of 25-30 carefully selected Scotch malt and grain whiskies, each aged between 5-6 years to achieve perfect harmony. Known alternatively as 'Black Watch Whisky' in certain markets, 100 Pipers represents a bygone era of traditional Scottish blending craftsmanship. Production has been discontinued, making existing bottles increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. ©dfs.com / Industry Sources
