SAKURAO GIN is a premium Japanese craft gin distilled at the Sakurao Distillery in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima—a region celebrated for its pristine natural landscape and centuries-old distilling tradition. Our master distillers employ time-honored copper pot still methods inherited from England, the historic cradle of London Dry Gin, while championing an exceptional palette of hyper-local Japanese botanicals that authentically express our unique terroir. Our botanical repertoire is a masterclass in aromatic complexity: vibrant top notes of florid Italian lemon peel and the rich, aromatic zest of Japanese yuzu; a woody, resinous mid-palate derived from indigenous Hinoki cypress; and a distinctive maritime minerality extracted from meticulously sourced oyster shells—a tribute to Hiroshima's legendary Seto Inland Sea aquaculture.
